RapidSort® Automatic Plastic Bottle Sorters
High purity, low cost sorting
The RapidSort® P75 accurately identifies plastic bottles and containers by polymer type and colour, and sorts both commingled and contaminated single polymer streams to very low contamination levels (e.g. <50ppm PVC in PET).
The system uses high resolution NIR and Visible spectroscopy in a single stage sensor for high detection accuracy at lower capital cost than multiple stage sorters.
At 5 bottles / second (or 0.8-0.9 tonnes / hour) each RapidSort® line sorts at substantially greater throughput speeds than other singulated systems. Multiple lines can be used for higher throughput capacities (e.g. a 4-line system will sort 3.2 - 3.6 tonnes/hour).
Moreover, because each line and its detector sorts into as many plastic categories as required, lines can be added as modules at any time to match changed throughput requirements (this contrasts with other systems where separate detectors are required for each plastic type, and so all detectors must be replaced / duplicated in order to upgrade capacity).
The overall concept is to provide a high purity, flexible sorting process at very low cost.
